Advertising: Press releases and promotional articles to explain and define Rolfing, talks and demonstrations at health clubs and centers, business cards and flyers, referrals from other alternative therapy professionals (massage therapists, reflexologists, acupuncturists, etc.), exhibit at health shows and malls.
Equipment needed: Cushioned table and/or bench, towels, health questionnaires, business telephone with answering system, scheduling book, books on Rolfing.
WHAT YOU DO
Rolfing is a technique of connective tissue manipulation that involves body manipulation and movement education. Developed by Ida P. Rolf, Ph.D., Rolfers strive to bring the various portions of the body (head, neck, torso, pelvis, legs, and feet) into a balance and support of one another. Rolfing sessions can result in clients' greater ease in movement and breathing, improved balance and stability, and an increased sense of well-being.
Rolfing is performed in a ten-session process, with many clients choosing to return six months to two years later for evaluation and for concentration on more specific problems.
